As discussed in Content Marketing, marketers use the power of storytelling in marketing brands. But it is not just a one-way scheme where a storyteller simply tells a story. It has to be interactive and relatable. It is a way of personal selling and pull marketing.
Basic elements of a story are:
Character -The goal of every storyteller is to turn make your audience relate or feel they are the characters in the story.
Setting - not fantasyland, but realistic.
Conflict - problems encountered and how the brand solves this!
Solution - provides the Moral of the Story and Values of the brand
Who perfectly exemplifies this? Walt Disney.
Why? because Disney keeps the art of magical storytelling at the heart of everything they do.
According to Charlie Coleman, VP and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company,
"At Disney, we adapt our business accordingly to continue to give consumers the best experience. We have to find the balance between having an open and active dialogue on social media that connects with our audiences, while staying true to our brand promise of providing high-quality, fun entertainment experiences, which are suitable for families."
It requires a lot of creativity to create and maintain those emotional touch points. We all felt like princesses and princes at one point in life or felt the challenge and difficulty of the character in a Disney movie. Disney has touched our lives and that is what makes the Disney brand truly remarkable and magical.
