The first group to present today was Baking Mom Femm, a start-up online bakery, which was been a trend at the start of this pandemic. With more time and less going-out, bakers, like Mom Femm, had the time to turn her passion into a business. But for it to be a sustainable business, it is not all about passionate, but to create a marketing plan to broaden the reach of the business and gain a foothold in the industry as thousands of online sellers of baked goods were established in the past few months.
My comments on Baking Mom Femm are the following:
First, the logo needs improvement ASAP. Upon checking her FB page, this is her logo:
It is very poorly made, I wouldn't be enticed to even check-out her site since the low quality logo gives me a negative perception on the quality of the brand that I wouldn't bother wasting my time, money and calories on this! Logo is the first perception and its vital in this highly-competitive industry. Thus, is one reason why Baking Mom Femm's reach is only to her friends and family who knows her and her location in Imus, Cavite is also a weakness since its far and costly for me to have it shipped. It must be super good and her goods to be no where as good as the options I have nearby for me to order and try.
I think aside from developing the design of the digital sources, the distribution channel can still be expanded. Baking Mom Femm can partner with a friend who is located in the heart of the Metro Manila as a pick-up or delivery point to increase its brand awareness and reach to its consumers.
The second group is Galaw.Co Theatre Company that has live dance performances and offer classes. The shift from a physical studio to classes via Zoom is necessary now as gyms and sports-related facilities have been forced to temporarily close during the pandemic and here comes the problem of Galaw.Co to effectively sell its brand and classes to dance enthusiasts.
The biggest problem here that I see is YouTube as their competitor. Why pay just to view classes online of Php 900 for 4 classes when there are videos for free available in YouTube? This is where Galaw.Co should differentiate its online classes to increase brand equity and uphold their reputation. Key is -- digital tools to increase brand awareness to spread worthwhile experience leading to brand advocates and positive word of mouth.
The following are the classes offered:
Galaw.Co created Facebook and Instagram AD campaigns, which were impressive for me since they used the carousel AD option to show different classes offered and applicable to increase their sales with a "sign-up" button available.
Also, for the company to be more legit, the website of Galaw.co should be google-able. Just need to pay a bit of extra for this thru Wix.
