Sisig is a Filipino favorite but what is it? It is a sizzling dish and originally its made from unusual parts like pig cheeks and chicken liver. Sounds unappetising, but when seasoned with onions, chili peppers and calamansi and topped with a sunny side up egg on a sizzling platter and paired with rice, this dish easily becomes a crowd favorite!
There are a lot of options to source your sisig. You can buy ready to eat or heat from supermarkets, convenient stores and sellers, order from restaurants and even make your own from scratch!
For me, my top favorite Sisig is "Cabeza de Cerdo" from El Cirkulo Cafe. Not a lot know about this restaurant because they only have one branch in the Milky Way Building along Pasay Road in Makati but it's the best I've had! It uses good quality ingredients, suckling pork meat, sweet onions and chili instead of pork fats and innards. Also, don't forget to tell them to add an egg!

Another top choice now and very famous sisig in the Metro is Manam's House Crispy Sisig. This is easily a crowd favorite. Very crunchy, tasty sizzled with chopped onions, chili and their special sauce! The taste is really good and best paired rice.
This choice is half the price than that of El Cirkulo's but it also uses deep fried fats for the crunchy texture. This is my usual go-to because of their several branches in malls and how it is offered in a small, medium and large size. I usually order a small size for myself. Medium is good for 2-3 persons while large is for 4-6 persons.
Manam also just recently partnered with 7-11 to sell their sisig as a ready-to-go classic meal with rice!

Other good Sisig options I recommend: - Razon's
- Dencio's
