Cibo by the Margarita Fores is Filipino favorite for more than 20 years. I've been eating in their branches since they opened back in 1997. Over the years my favorites have changed but I always leave the restaurant with a full tummy and a happy self.
From their accommodating staff to excellent Italian dishes, everything is good and if anything is salty, just tell the waiter and they'll happily replace your dish.
Some of my recommendations:
Appetizers:
Spinaci Zola - Spinach Dip with gorgonzola (BEST SPINACH DIP EVER!)
This is the dish that made me learn to eat and love spinach. Even kids love this because it doesn't taste like you're eating veggies!
2. Summer Squash Soup - with cream and bacon
Another veggie dish, made from squash then pureed with bacon bits!
Pasta Recommendations based on your sauce preference:
Rigattoni All'Alfonso - tomato cream with shrimps! this is similar to Penne al Telefono
Spaghetti Alla Pescatora - tomato based with seafood bits of shrimp and squid
Linguine Alla Ghiotta - cream based with parmesan, bacon and sautéed mushrooms. Similar to Carbonara
Sandwich Recommendations:
Gamberetti - Shrimp sandwich with white celery, onions, alfalfa and mayonaise.
Prosciutto Praga - Smoked cooked ham with mushrooms and gruyere on whole wheat
Porchetta - Roman Style roast pork with read wine liver, arugula and apple and pear mostarda (my fave! sweet and salty! ) in a crusty roll
Special Tip: Opt to change side salad into their famous house chips!!
Good news is CIBO delivers!!
And I'm really happy with Cibo’s takeout packaging plus extra sauces for all our pasta orders! Feels like eating in the restaurant like before.
TIP: Reheat the spinach dip in the oven toaster before eating to fully enjoy it. The cup (without the lid) is oven safe.
Stay Tuned & Stay Hungry!
